The unprecedented damage caused by Hurricane Michael
October of 2018 and the destruction that Hurricane Michael brought will long be remembered by the heart of Tallahassee. It was a game-changer in many ways, like when the hurricane plunged across the state and into neighboring Georgia while maintaining strong winds – something that most hurricanes lose once they reach land. Although it’s not unheard of, it’s rare. One thing that isn’t rare, though, is the destruction that the storm left behind that reached nearly a billion when you factor in good, timberland. Now, two years later, many fine Tallahassee residents are still impacted by Hurricane Michael and that’s not okay. The community of Tallahassee is our community too.
